this grove is our grove.

Here’s how we’re doing our bit to give love back to our home.

Grove Bar is a climate-positive workforce, thanks to our partnership with Ecologi.

Every year, Ecologi not only offsets all of our staff’s footprints by planting trees, but also funds projects that include renewable energy generation, forest protection, and community initiatives such as providing access to clean water.

sourcing.

We think a
big part of being
planet-conscious
is using what’s
around us and
seasonally available.

That’s why we try to source from as close to home as possible.

From local distilleries, to bush foragers.
We love to celebrate our home, responsibly -
and make lovely friends in the process.

waste reduction.

Taking the
form of infusing,
preserving,
dehydrating
and all the other
funky processes
you may see on our menus, at Grove Bar we are taking steps to minimise as much food waste as possible.

If bits are ever unusable, that’s where composting comes in.

We send any food waste that we produce out to a commercial composting site - where it gets a bit steamy and then is redistributed to local farms.

grove goes dark.

It began with turning off our lights for
WWF Earth Hour, then quickly became a very regular occurence at Grove.

Now, every Friday and Saturday evening,
we replace a majority of our lights with candles for our beloved
drinks and drag
‘In the Dark’ series.

Going dark in the evenings not only reduces our environmental impact, but also creates a moody, vibey experience that you’re unlikely to experience in most small venues.

And when our lights are on, we are partnered with one of the country’s greenest energy
providers - Momentum, which supplies us
with renewable,
hydro-powered electricity.
